Ways to Volunteer at Our Amarillo Bakery
Whether you’re comfortable in a kitchen or prefer to help behind the scenes, there’s a place for you here. Here are some of the ways our volunteers contribute each week.
Jump into the kitchen and help produce our weekly orders from scratch. From mixing dough to pulling loaves from the oven, baking volunteers work side by side with experienced teammates who will guide every step. No prior experience needed.
Bring creativity and care to cakes, cookies, and pastries that customers order for special occasions. Decorating volunteers learn techniques on the job and are always supported by experienced team members.
Help ensure every order is boxed, labeled, and presentation-ready before it goes out the door. Packaging volunteers play a critical role in the quality of every delivery and pickup.
Every great kitchen runs on clean equipment. Dish volunteers are a vital part of keeping operations moving and are always appreciated. This is a great entry-level role for first-time volunteers.

What to Expect as a Kind House Volunteer
A Welcoming, Judgment-Free Kitchen
Our bakery is a place where everyone starts as a beginner. Volunteers learn from each other in a supportive, encouraging environment. We move at a pace that works for the whole team, and no one is ever left to figure things out alone.
Real Training, Every Step of the Way
You will never be handed an apron and left to wing it. Every task is taught clearly and hands-on. Whether you’re learning to pipe frosting, stack a box, or run the dish station, someone experienced will be right there with you.
A Morning That Matters
Volunteer sessions run Tuesday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. You’re welcome to come for a full shift or a portion of one. Either way, the hours you give go directly toward funding relief in Ukraine—one baked good at a time.
